Christopher Nurse
Founder

Christopher Nurse was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, where he learned early that the validity of one’s argument matters more than the volume of one’s voice. That lesson followed him to Florida, where he spent nine years living and working in Florida politics—learning the legislative ropes through long hours, tough fights, and the kind of relationships you only build by showing up consistently and keeping your word.

Now Christopher calls Colorado home. He brought that same work ethic and a fresh perspective to the Colorado Capitol, where he founded Nurse Public Affairs to offer something different: straight talk, ethical advocacy, and direct access to a seasoned professional.

He specializes in several areas that matter deeply to him: AI regulations, because technology is moving faster than the law; criminal justice reform, because systems should serve people rather than punish them needlessly; immigration elder affairs and children's affairs policy, because the most vulnerable deserve the clearest voices fighting for them.

Over the course of his career, Christopher has built a track record of translating complex policy goals into legislative reality. He helped author Florida's first comprehensive AI bill, SB 1680, in 2024, which created the Government Technology Modernization Council to study and monitor the deployment of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies as well as enhanced penalties for crimes surrounding AI-generated child sexual abuse material (CSAM). He also helped author the HAVEN Act (HB 269), signed into law in May 2026, which expands protections for domestic and dating violence survivors by studying a web-based 911 alert system and extending the Attorney General’s address confidentiality program.

More recently in Colorado, he directly lobbied on behalf of immigrant communities for SB26-005, which creates a state court cause of action for individuals whose constitutional rights are violated during federal immigration enforcement, and HB26-1276, which strengthens oversight of immigration detention facilities and limits information sharing with federal authorities. From drafting amendments and negotiating with agency officials to building bipartisan coalitions, Christopher handles the mechanics of lawmaking so his clients don't have to.

Christopher doesn't take every client—only the ones he truly believes in. When you work with him, you work directly with him. No junior associates. No bait-and-switch. Just a partner who treats your goals like his own.

When he's not under the Gold Dome, you'll find Christopher exploring Colorado's mountains, keeping up with his puppy Hugh (you may even meet him at the Capitol), or cooking something that reminds him of home or of his travels.
